ABOUT ME

ABOUT

I paint striking large scale artworks with an emphasis on lighting effects. I blend nature with vibrant unnatural colour to create dreamy moods that liven up a space.

My personal work is an expression of the human psyche using a mix of familiar imagery from day to day life and more mystical, fantasy elements. I aim to depict and transmit the metaphysical nature of human experience.

BIO

Influenced by graffiti, visionary, and classical fine art, Chuck Mayfield’s art is vibrant, dark, and dreamy.

Coming from a family of artists, Chuck Mayfield has been practicing in creative fields from an early age. He has been painting and drawing his whole life, and started painting graffiti art and murals at age 16.

Chuck has painted murals and exhibited work in cities across Australia, Asia, Europe and the US, and continues to travel, painting walls and working on creative projects.

He now lives in Melbourne and works from Everfresh studio as freelance artist, mostly painting murals, while also producing personal works in public, private spaces, for live performance and exhibitions.

In the future, Chuck aspires to continue to travel, push creative boundaries, and collaborate with other inspiring creators around the world.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My art is an exploration of the eclectic range of elements that comprise my view of life both philosophically and aesthetically.

My creativity has been influenced by many different narratives over the course of my ever-changing life. I love to leave no stone unturned when it comes to exploring art, culture, and experiencing what life has to offer.

This diversity of experience and interest fuels my artwork: animals, plants, natural environments, as well as the dynamics of city life. Woven through these subjects are my fascination with the mystical, philosophical, and the spiritual.

I’ve developed an obsession with the power of colour and am constantly studying the illusion of light and ways to paint it.

My practice is about creating a synergy between these elements to express abstract narratives that underpin my sense of reality. In my work I aim to bridge metaphysical concepts with day to day life.
